Steve,
I love your text blog entries. I can read them in 2 or 3 minutes, which is awesome.
In your video blogs, you speak slowly, which is fine for presentation, but doesn’t facilitate me absorbing info I need and moving on to my next e-mail.
I watched the first 5 minutes, then gave up.
If there was some important message in the 2nd 5 minutes. I missed it. If there was not an important message in the 2nd 5 minutes, why did you make a 10 minute video?
Either way, you are not communicating effectively.
Steve,
Agree with the bottom line here – you must stand out from the crowd if you want your customers/clients to notice you.
However, their video takes ‘standing out’ a little too far! Looks more like advertising/messaging for pre-school or day care center. In my opinion, your audience should still know what your business is or what service you are providing.
On a side note – Chris’ comment is true. The most important point of your vlog was the last minute, but you have to watch almost 9 minutes to get to it.
I read your stuff at work. I don’t want to watch videos at work. Can’t I just read this instead??
Cheryl, be sure to see my next post.
I liked the video… I agree that blogs are quicker and easier to get through, but at home I can listen to you while I move around. No good for Evergreen bank.
